Story/Aufgabe im Spiel: Hollow Knight ist ein klassischer Metroidvania Titel, d.h. es gibt eine große zusammenhängende Karte zu erforschen, die sich einem erst nach und nach erschließt, wenn man neue Fähigkeiten erlangt. Das Spiel findet in einem schaurig schönen und melancholischen Setting im gefallenen Königreich Heilandsnest statt. Warum und wieso wir da sind und was dem Königreich überhaupt passiert ist, gibt anfangs Rätsel auf, die sich hoffentlich im Verlauf des Spiels klären werden. Team Cherry ist wirklich ein wunderbares Erstlingswerk auf sehr hohem Niveau gelungen, ein Spiel, das sich absolut zurecht in die Toplisten des Genres katapultiert hat.
