Story/Aufgabe im Spiel: Es gibt mit Sicherheit auch hier wieder eine nebensächliche Story, die Umwelt verändert sich, ein Drachenältester taucht auf, wir müssen das untersuchen etc. Aber eigentlich geht es um die Jagd und das Gameplay, das Verhalten der Flora und Fauna. Man jagt Monster um sich daraus Rüstung zu bauen, manche Drops wie der Schwanz z.B. verlangen es, diese Körperteile auch wirklich abzuschlagen, für andere Drops muss man das Monster fangen. Und diese wirken dabei echt lebendig, sie fressen, trinken und fliehen, wenn sie keine Ausdauer mehr haben, und versuchen sich humpelnd in ihre Heimatgebiete zurückzuziehen, wenn sie kurz vorm Sterben sind. Sie leisten sich auch untereinander Rangkämpfe, wenn jemand ungefragt ihr Revier betritt. Das ganze wirkt einfach so unglaublich lebendig, man muss es mal gesehen haben. Das Kampfsystem und -gameplay ist einfach so ausgeklügelt, jede Waffe spielt sich komplett unterschiedlich, man kann sich die buntesten Sets zusammenbauen etc. Einfach grandios! Iceborne bring zusätzlich den Master Rank, eine neue Storyline, das neue Gebiet die Raureif-Weite, neue Waffen Moves, die Klammerklaue und natürlich neue Monster, neue Rüstungen und Waffen mit sich.
