Story/Aufgabe im Spiel:
"Vier Jahre sind seit dem Brood War vergangen. Die neue terranische Liga ist nun die dominierende Macht im gesamten Koprulu Sektor. Verschiedene Nachrichtensendungen zeigen, dass Rebellen, die die terranische Liga stürzen wollen, gejagt werden. Kerrigan, die Königin der Klingen und somit die Anführerin der Zerg, versammelt den gesamten Zergschwarm in Char. Daraufhin ziehen sich die Zerg jedoch aus unbekannten Gründen zurück. Auch die Protoss halten sich im Hintergrund. Im Koprulu Sektor herrscht somit anscheinend Frieden." -Wikipedia
Wir schlüpfen in die Rolle des Rebellenführers Jim Raynor, der noch eine Rechnung mit Arcturus Mengsk - Imperator der terranischen Liga - offen hat. Als wir schließlich auf dem Planeten [lexicon]Mar[/lexicon] Sara ein Uraltes Xel'Naga-Artefakt aus den Händen terranischer Liga-Streitkräfte entwenden, folgt kurz darauf die Invasion des Planeten durch die Zerg. Nachdem wir durch die Unterstützung der Hyperion entkommen konnten, begeben wir uns auf die Suche nach weiteren Xel'Naga-Artefakten, treffen Alte Verbündete, Neue Feinde und durchkreuzen die Pläne der Liga, wo wir nur können.
Und das alles auf der Höchsten Schwierigkeitsstufe "Brutal"
