Die Welt „Ark“ besteht aus drei großen Kontinenten, getrennt durch den großen Ozean, in dem sich viele teils unentdeckte Eilande befinden.
Der westliche Kontinent (Nuyia) und der östliche Kontinent (Harihara) birgt die Geburtststätten beider Fraktionen, die sich in der Welt einen erbitterten Kampf liefern. Auf dem Nordkontinent finden diese Kämpfe in Territorialbesetzungen und Burgenschlachten ihren Höhepunkt. Auf den Meeren treiben Piraten, der Kraken und andere Seeungeheuer ihr Unwesen.
Laut Jake Song wird die Welt bei Release größer sein als die von WoW inklusive aller Add-Ons. Zwischen den Kontinenten kann man nur mit dem Schiff reisen. Teleportation wird es nicht geben, weil dadurch die Größe der Welt in den Köpfen der Spieler zerstört werden würde. Außerdem soll es in der Welt von Archeage für jeden Spielertyp das geben, was er schon immer gesucht hat. Nichts anderes als eine Kombination des PvE von [lexicon]World of Warcraft[/lexicon], des PvP von Lineage 2 und der offenen Welt von Skyrim (man munkelt auch vom Sandbox-Prinzip EVEs).
